Model Railroading > Proses Ballast Spreader and Glue SpreaderDate: 11/29/16 14:19 Proses Ballast Spreader and Glue Spreader Author: SD608708 Does anyone know of a hobby shop here in the USA that has the adjustable ballast spreader and the adjustable glue spreader?

I thought it would be interesting to individually control the amount of ballast inside the guage and the shoulders. Toward the end everybody had nice clean properly profiled ballast, but before that it was oily black on the inside, or just dirt on the shoulders, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5joUz_9Ncx8 There's a second video clip where they have mounted levers and gates to control flow and then mounted wheels and a coupler of some sort, a bit much but at least somebody is thinking outside of the box, or ballast pile. For modelling typical mainline track, it would take longer to get the extra off the ties with a brush than just tapping a squished together Dixie cup placing the ballast between the ties (not on top of) and touch up with brush.
NS below. VERY little ballast on ties. Peter http://www.american-rails.com/images/SOU_DK_GP35c.jpg Date: 11/30/16 07:22 Re: Proses Ballast Spreader and Glue Spreader Author: Larry020 Here's one with brushes in HO for only $239, plus s/h. O is only $198.

No idea about the HO one as the video would not play right and scoots to the end. Not sure if it is supposed to show how it works.. I think the manufacturer needs to have someone re-do the website.
