Photos on Grand Road Layout
Author: grandroad

My friend Dean Dickerhoof just received a new Kato N-Scale FEF (4-8-4) freight version. He let me take some photos of it on my layout.

1. Exiting a tunnel behind the Terror Creek Depot.
2. Climbing behind the Terror Creek Depot.
3. On the big curve above Terror Creek.

There is more.

4. The big 4-8-4 leaving Terror Creek with 40-ft reefers.
5. Photo taken from a bridge abutment of the FEF on the Terror Creek deck bridge. This photo was taken using a first surface mirror since there is no way to get the camera in this location with out breaking all the trees off.
6. The FEF spliting the signals at Terror Creek

Two more

Finally, a couple of shots of the Grand Road.

The first is of Amtrak #6 , also on the big curve above Terror Creek, and last but not least the DNROEX (Denver to Roseville Expedited) splitting the signals at Terror Creek.

Thanks for looking.

Kato sure did a beautiful job on that 4-8-4.  I swear it looks like an HO model.  The layout is sure realistic too.

Paul, thanks for sharing some really nice shots of your exceptionally detailed layout.  Oh, the 4-8-4 isn't bad either.

Nice photos!  Super nice to hear that Dean is still enjoying the hobby.  He and I worked on some UP Historical Society projects together a number of years ago.  Nice looking layout, thanks for sharing.

Paul,

Did I see this layout in the "Model Railroad Craftsman" I was browsing in the grocery store this morning?  I didn't read it, only looked at pictures.  I'm amazed to learn it's N scale.  Great job.............

Fantastic layout Paul, I still have the MR issue that it was featured in some years ago. Didn't realize this was N scale until I caught it in the captions. Very nice work! The UP Northern is one beauty model.

Too bad I got out of N scale and went to HO. I'd definitely like to see your layout!

Really an incredibly realistic layout. Nice work! You can sense the sheer time that was taken to create all the fine details.
