Does anyone make an NW5 in HO scale besides Overland/OMI?

No. It will be a kitbash involving available EMD switch engines, GP chassis and plastic sheeting.

Contact ScaleTrains and request that they do that model.

Thirteen were built. GN in two, possibly three paint variations. BN Cascade green, Southern tuxedo, Union Belt of Detroit and a later home chop nose for Olin Matheson.

This could be a reason for Scale Trains to build Blomberg B trucks useful for so many possible later projects.

Good luck with the sales pitch.

With only 13 NW5s built and even less railroad paint schemes, I think Scale Rails would search for a more popular prototype, maybe a cow-calf set?

What a nice photo. How could any manufacturer take a pass on any locomotive with this much character which has never been done before? This is EMD's version of an RS-1.

Interesting that No. 61 has a cast frame, which should make it an NC-5!  Here's GN NW-5 192 for comparison, which has a welded frame.

I'd like to see one of these produced, but with only 13 prototype locomotives ever made, the reluctance of a manufacturer to produce these is understandable.

I did enjoy seeing the 192 shown in the previous post during a visit to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth.

As I recall about 30 years ago someone produced the RS1325 in brass.
