Does anyone make after market well car couplers?

Are we talking couplers or drawbars?

I've used ordinary Kadee #5 couplers for my well car couplers.  The sets I have are 5-car articulated sets which need couplers on both ends to couple with adjacent cars.

Some stand alone well cars come with draw bars in the kits if they are say, a 3-car set that runs connected by drawbars.  Walthers may sell them seperately if you need them.

To the OP: are you referring to lower shelf Type E couplers that a lot of well cars are equipped with?  You could modify Kadee #119 double shelf SE couplers to lower shelf style by lopping off the top shelf.

 I should have said drawbar, but Walthers part sheet called them couplers.

Piece of styrene, drill two holes, round the corners, paint/weather them rusty, done.......

Getting a little off topic within the topic.

Drawbarred sets can become unwieldly.  My friend came up with an easy solution.  One drawbar is attached per the instructions.  The other end is not.  (If the drawbar droops too much, a shim may be required in the box).   

On the other end do not use the coupler box cover.  Screw in the coupler box screw.  Using a Dremel, cut off the screw head.  Assemble the train on the track.  It should stay assembled on all but the worst track. 

Brass steam locomotives and tenders have been assembled this way for decades.  Why not copy a proven design?

Never thought of that way to do it and its easy to do you are so right about the engine and tender hook ups.
