Model Railroading > North River Western TurntableDate: 01/14/17 11:37 North River Western Turntable Author: livesteamer Having complete the first 850 foot loop of track, the North River Western is now in the need of a turntable. So over the course of the last couple of weeks, I managed to build this gallows style turntable in the basement shop. When the weather breaks, it will be time for the turntable pit and ring rail installation so that I am ready for first run day in the spring.

And if you believe the weatherguessers, next week is supposed to be in the mid 50s during the day and the 40s at night. That is once The Weather Channel's Winter Storm Jupiter finally fades away. So you might be able to do some installation work next week!

Walk out basement shop has a set of normal height double doors. Original plan was for the steam engine shop and train storage to be in this part of our home but my bride did not relish the idea of a steaming bay directly underneath our backyard deck.
