What Color should I use
Author: Woodman

I went to a train show two months ago and purchased several advanced all wood very old kits.  Few directions, but looks like fun to build.  One of the kits I purchased was a 1919 Pacific Great Eastern 40 ft. box car.  My dilemma is what color to paint it.  Can anyone give me a color that will be close to the original?  I cannot seem to find any color cars of the PGE RR.  Thanks for your help.

Boxcar red, mineral red, similar to CN and CP cars of the era.

try www.cnrphotos.com   website has numerous albums, including BC Rail as well as PGE / BCR rolling stock in the "freight equipment" album.
Wonder if you might have better luck posting your request on the Canadian board or try contacting the West Coast Railway Museum in Squamish BC as they might have the paint scheme and color codes infomation you are looking for etc etc.
