Go on their website - may be some info there.

There's no new info on the Bowser website.  At the Springfield show at the end of January it was obvious the SD40-2 units weren't ready.  They were showing painted shells, not finished models.

Are they improving the Dynamic Brake blister?

Guys,
Give him a break.  How hard is it to direct your typing over to Lee at Bowser directly instead of stirring the pot here on TO?  I am sure he isn't over his head with projects but if you have a better idea about how to produce in China and meet deadlines, I am sure he would like to hear from you.

Sorry, I was just thinking I could get a faster answer here. Not slamming anyone or trying to stir any pot.

I would just like to see them get things right. The C636 project took years to bring to market and once it arrived, required the purchaser to request replacement parts and disassemble the things and swamp them out. These were expensive models to boot! The dynamic brake blister is right out of a Rail Power Products kit on their GMD SD40-2 model.

These things cost to much for these errors.

NYSWSD70M I seen it mentioned a few times that the dynamic brake blister has been fixed for the second run.

Bowser MFG CO INC  We have gotten word that they (GMD SD40-2s) are finally leaving the factory. But, it will be weeks yet, until the slow boat arrives here. From there Facebook page a few days ago.

Because you know everyone is perfect.

Bower is run by lots of good people.  Humans.  Mistakes happen.  They admitted the mistake, took care of it, AT NO COST, to everyone.    How many other companies would do that?

Glad to hear that. They are great locomotives otherwise.

Well if you consider your time free than you are correct. It was still very time consuming to change out the parts. I also broke a handrail changing out these parts on one out of the six that I owned. They sent the wrong replacement which I corrected by going to the store for the actual replacement. The models are not cheap and required a lot of rework. The QC models from the second run had frame stripe issues. Again a lot of time and no free parts this time.

Make all the excuses you like, for what they cost, they should be/have been better. The Bowser C430's had none of these issues.

As far as that goes, Athearn replaced all of my LV GP38-2's free of charge - if you consider my time is worth nothing. This was due to the completely incorrect shade of red.

Bowser is a great group of people but they need to take their game up a notch.
