Model Railroading > MTH HO steam engine questionsDate: 03/27/17 11:27 MTH HO steam engine questions Author: suvart I recently got an MTH GS6, and overall I am happy with it. I just have a few questions.
1. The gap between the tender and the locomotive seems unprototypically large, does anyone have a way to shorten the drawbar? 2. How do I turn off the random radio noises? It's extremely annoying, not to mention as far as I know SP didn't have radio equipped Gs units. 3. The lettering seems awfully small, at least to my eye. And the font doesn't seem right. Is this correct? Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/27/17 12:32 by suvart. Date: 03/27/17 14:23 Re: MTH HO steam engine questions Author: wnehoc I don't own one of these, but that said:
1) Is there a pin on the tender that goes in a hole in the drawbar? If so, just drill a new hole in the draw bar. 2) I don't know. If you've already checked the documentation, try contacting MT 3) Yes, the lettering is too small and not in the correct SP style. I think I'm going to have to live with the large gap, as the drawbar also holds the electrical connection between the locomotive and tender.

SMH Because MTH's core business is the "toy" train market and that attitude of "close is good enough" permeates their HO products. Gary B. how close are the drivers on the GS6 model to prototype? |
