Passenger Trains > Amtrak 48 (22)

The Late Shore left Chicago at 1:31 a.m. last night--I guess it is really 48 (23)! Anybody know the problem?

Having just passed through Chicago earlier this month all I can say is it's winter in Chicago. Nothing goes as planned.

Wow. I was on the CL this morning (blissfully on time) towards Chicago. Very early in the morning I saw a Viewliner consist go by and couldn't figure out what train that could've been. Now I know.

Interesting that #49 arrived CHI Wed 05 mins early so it had its
usual time to get serviced.
Several trains left CHI on time including #7 and # 30. Yet some
trains such as Wolverine 354 departed 2:30 late and #5 left 1:46
late. But a good number of trains left about on schedule.

#48 is due in Albany at 8:40 pm tonight..about 6 hrs late
#448 is not expected to leave Albany until 9:00 pm instead of the
scheduled 3:25 pm. Current ETA Boston 1:36 am (5:21 late). The MBTA
will be shut down so plenty of cabs had better be available.

Sounds to me the yards had problems gettin' the trainset ready to go because of the cold!

Yeah.

Cold in Chicago is very unusual in the winter, so I can understand why this created a several hour delay. Give that crew a bonus for working in the cold!

Tonights 48 from Chicago left on time !

#48 of the 22nd due NYP tonight 11:36 pm
and #448 due BOS 2:07 am. Both trains
about 5 hrs late

#49 of the 23rd is currently 37 mins late
at Syracuse

On 12/23 # 48 arrived NYP 11:59 pm (5:24 late).
#448 arrived Boston 2:21 am (5:11 late)

Friday 24th at this hour #49 is 1:22 late at
Cleveland and #48 is 58 mins late at Sandusky

48 held for connections of 6, large group. Then suffered a mechanical problem. Equipment is now running thru to Miami to keep from freezing up, up in the north country,
