You CAN walk from the station to Lagoon, right?? J. Date: 07/16/12 17:22 Re: A Frontrunner meet in Farmington Author: F40PHR231 The Lagoon is reachable via State Street, but taking the shuttle from the station is quite convenient.
Perhaps James can chime in and give us deets on secret underground passageways... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/16/12 17:37 by F40PHR231. Lagoon opened in it’s present location in July of 1896. It was originally served by the Great Salt Lake and Hot Springs Ry. Co. from the time it opened until the GSL&HS was sold and renamed the Salt Lake and Ogden Ry. in October 1896. The SL&O was a Simon Bamberger operation. The line remained as the SL&O until the name was changed again to the Bamberger Electric RR in 1917. I have a 1901 pass for the Salt Lake and Ogden Ry. that is good for the 1901 Lagoon Excursion Season.

I first learned about it when visiting Salt Lake City in 1977 and saw young people wearing shirts reading "Lagoon" boarding the local bus that ran between SLC and Ogden. Some years later I was looking up the Bamberger RR in my 1924 McGraw Electric Railway Directory, and it says :"Reaches Lagoon Resort (controlled)"
