Passenger Trains > North Pole or BustDate: 12/15/12 18:28 North Pole or Bust Author: jmw The Grand Canyon Railway's "Polar Express" whisks its precious cargo to the North Pole and a rendezvous with the fat man himself.
Images taken at the Pronghorn Rd crossing which is a little over four miles north of Williams, AZ. Note: My wife took the second shot, which is actually the best of the three! JMW Date: 12/15/12 18:51 Re: North Pole or Bust Author: nikon1 Excellent set of photos. Especially the first one.

Karl Date: 12/16/12 10:58 Re: North Pole or Bust Author: arrow611 Hope your wife used a telephoto lens or setting (point-and-shoot) for that second shot. Otherwise, has she thawed out yet from becoming a "snow-woman?" Brrrrrr ! ! !
Date: 12/16/12 13:06 Re: North Pole or Bust Author: TomPlatten Did they add a separate generator for the cars to those F-40's?
Date: 12/16/12 17:02 Re: North Pole or Bust Author: jmw The #237 and #239 both have HEP generators. Only the #237 uses its HEP as it is the most efficient.
JMW Posted from iPhone Date: 12/21/12 09:29 Re: North Pole or Bust Author: milwrdfan Are these separate gensets, or the original Amtrak HEP tied to the main generator? I ask, because at least the pictures of 237 seem to show an axillary exhaust stack on it.
