Date: 04/10/14 05:42 Re: Amtrak 29 Inspection Special Author: knotch8 Looks like the train's make-up is reversed, with the transition/dorm against the theatre car, then the 2 sleepers ahead, then the diner, then the lounge. The coaches and baggage must be on the head-end.
Unless they had another transition/dorm up front, the only problem is that there's no access between the coaches and the baggage car, so the crew or station personnel have to open the baggage-car door from the outside. I started train riding as a kid (sometimes even in wooden coaches-Milwaukee Road) Later graduated to troop trains with their luxurious first class accommodations (water with dinner instead of Bordeaux wine and cheese), and finished riding as a SUIT.
