I had a mentor once who believed that when a CFO left, you should take your money off the table, or put a big hedge in.

The money guy knows what's going on, or should, long before anybody else.

CEOs like to have their own people in the CFO position. Richard Sarles "inherited" Kissal when he took over at WMATA in 2011.
