I think this is a modified ex-KCS coach. (PS 1965) > > 11) One of the Piedmont coaches, which was very > clean! Great to see these heritage cars still doing what their builders had intended, nearly 60 years later. cisco Date: 06/19/14 05:52 Re: Piedmont / Carolinian trip report Author: ctillnc Come back in 5-10 years, and the Charlotte station will have moved back to the pre-1964 site in downtown. No more bus 11, but it will be a 6-block walk from Lynx.

How few Americans would consider doing what you did. Event location hotels are booked. So you stay miles away, using public transportation.... ...and foot. What??? No rental car??? If more Americans thought like you did, we might actually demand and get better public transportation. Enough commentary. Nice work with the trains. A few of those are very worthy of IOTD. The Canadians use Heritage cars on their VIA flagship train. Too bad we in US can't figure that out, except in isolated cases like this one. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/19/14 13:22 by hazegray. One of these days I'll make it up to the museum. Have ridden Lynx for fun, and for my commute. There was some convention one trip and all the Uptown hotels were booked, so walked about a mile from my hotel to the Lynx station. But it was July, so I was dripping wet less than a 1/4 mile in to my walk. Much prefer the dry air out west. Great story and photos Chris, looks like a fun trip.

Shows an 'h' instead on an 'n'. --Jim Baker |
