Passenger Trains > Amtrack VehicleDate: 07/30/14 05:53 Amtrack Vehicle Author: RRTom I can't top Boiling Man's shot of a CN Volkswagen Beetle in his latest AFT series but here's something spotted at an auto repair shop in Philadelphia yesterday. My theory is that it's awaiting installation of hi-rail gear so it can be used for high speed track inspections on the abuilding 160mph Raceway in New Jersey.

If that's the reasoning, I'd propose that the creator of this livery hasn't cured the problem, because there's still a potential for confusion. Date: 07/30/14 07:39 Re: Amtrack Vehicle Author: TipsyMcStagger Would have been more believable if it was a BMW E60 (2003-2009 5 series)
Date: 07/30/14 07:51 Re: Amtrack Vehicle Author: LiveWire Of course, if it is a racing vehicle, that, you know, goes around a track, then Amtrack becomes a nice pun...

Date: 07/30/14 08:40 Re: Amtrack Vehicle Author: PHall I guess this means the driver's e-ticket will be lost in the system and it will be stuck behind four trucks!

Date: 07/30/14 10:08 Re: Amtrack Vehicle Author: AmtrakJulie Here's another "typo" courtesy of our friends in Chicago. I don't think THEY have to worry about trademark issues.

Amtrak would have a hard time pressing the issue legally. Date: 07/30/14 10:55 Re: Amtrack Vehicle Author: wa4umr When I saw the subject line I noticed the error. I figured he either didn't know the difference or he had fingers like mine, they type what they want, not what I want. (teh vs the, havent vs haven't, etc...) Then I saw the picture. Kind of explained it. At least they guy didn't go for the Shamu paint style. Is that Phase III?
John Date: 07/30/14 13:25 Re: Amtrack Vehicle Author: PERichardson Given the seat and roll cage, wonder if it's raced; although no visible SCCA sticker so perhaps not.
Date: 07/30/14 14:40 Re: Amtrack Vehicle Author: knotch8 I wonder if the car will outlive Amtrak's 901, an AEM-7.
