CT gets $161M from feds for "Walk" bridge replacement
Author: illini73

Connecticut just received a $161 million grant from the Federal Government to help pay for replacement of the "Walk" moveable bridge on the Metro-North New Haven Line. The entire project, scheduled to begin in 2016, will cost $465 million. The new bridge should be in service by 2019. Link to "Mass Transit" magazine article:

Couldn't tell from the article, what type of bridge are they going to build as the replacement? And will it be built any higher to reduce openings?
