Is the consist for the WB Zephyr turned in Oakland or does it run backward when it heads back to Chicago?

...and the tail of the wye is too short to accommodate the entire train, so it's turned in two halves. If you're into low impact activities (like watching paint dry) you can easily enjoy this every evening- the legs of the wye cross 3rd street in Oakland.

If it makes it in on time... Lol!
You might have to wait until the first trick job is on duty and they end up turning it... that's real dedication!

Mark, you know better!! LOL!! The times we had to go to Martinez or Suisun/Fairfield to dog catch the crew. In the old coach yard, it was much easier to wye and get the engines to the diesel shop.

All good Chris and SR! Yeah, I remember sitting out on the old wye after coming out of the wash waiting for the signal as the SP nightly EB "fleet" headed out of town.
And, yeah, even though I was used to Chicago winters, that bay fog would creep in and it would get pretty darn cold, too!
