Extra Thanksgiving Capacity on Downeasters, too
Author: GenePoon

Add the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, which finances
and manages the Downeasters, to the list of agencies which will
be providing added capacity for the Thanksgiving holidays:

Meanwhile, the Capitol Corridor will not be selling out, with its unlimited capacity.

No, not true, unless you're being sarcastic. Standing room only will apply to some trains.

I stand by my statement. Unlimited tickets are available for sale. Seats are not guaranteed and do not form part of the conveyage contract.

The Thanksgiving Timetables are now available for viewing and downloading from Amtrak's website.

FWIW, in the east, all Keystone Service, Niagara Falls service, and NEC service will be reserved seats only. Also includes the Springfield spur. Looks like Michigan trains will be all reserved, too.

All Amtrak services are all-reserved all the time, except for Capitol Corridor, Surfliners, Hiawathas, and certain Keystone services.

Right. The certain Keystone Services is one reason I mentioned that, specifically. Under normal circumstances, you don't need reservations for Harrisburg to Philly and vice versa. You will, during the holiday season.

From the timetable

"All trains are unreserved for local travel between Harrisburg,
Philadelphia and intermediate points. Travel to or from other points
requires reservations. All connecting trains require reservations"
