Rumor has it that 19 new viewliners will be coming up the D&H to Schenectady, then to Rensselaer today. Nine more tomorrow. First run has the Veteran's unit on the point.

God awful weather, but I'm happy to hear they're on the way.

This sounds like a great photo opportunity for those who can get it. 20 new baggage cars behind the 42. (For those who did not read the Amtrak Blog, they are picking up the 2 bags currently in Philly.)Problem for me is this train is running 2 hours behind 97 which passes Richmond, VA at around 2130.

Reading through the schedule, it looks like the Albany to NY Penn, and NY Penn to Philly legs will be in darkness. And to Philly to someplace in the Carolinas in darkness, too.

But the train should be in daylight during its Philadelphia layover.
