Date: 12/18/14 08:59 Re: Public Transportation Growing Author: robj Still looking for the year by year data in his links. I do like the stock analogies tho(think that is right term). Love affairs, breaking up.
"Cities think streetcars and trolleys are totally hot." "The rise of regional transit: Long-distance relationships" A Street Car name Desire? I would note though the population in 1957 was 164,371,000 and 317M or so in 2014 according to a quick look and so it would be interesting to plot ridership and population growth. I can come and go as I choose...not on someone else's schedule. And I don't have to worry about getting shot or knifed in the process by some low life's who frequent city oriented public transport.

Date: 12/18/14 13:23 Re: Public Transportation Growing Author: wabash2800 In my city (Fort Wayne, Indiana) I'm sure most of the folks using public transit are severely lower income or unemployed. Yes, probably some college students but most students here have their own transportation. (Our colleges are mostly commuter campuses.) I do feel for the disadvantaged, as I've been there, and it appears that as a % of the population it might be higher than ever.
Let's face it, most of us prefer our own wheels, if we can afford it, even if the wheels are falling off. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/18/14 13:24 by wabash2800. Date: 12/19/14 06:43 Re: Public Transportation Growing Author: cforssi andersonb109 Wrote:

This is all part of getting rid of our mobility for the UN's Agenda 21. I am sure they will do more things to get you out of your car.... and make you ride with all of the vibrant "Diversity" out there....guns and knives are a part of it. I will think of statements like this (regarding the great mobility an automobile provides) next time I'm stuck on a jammed urban superhighway going 5 mph....... Edited 1 time(s).
