Author: railcity

Well I am Back from my Trip from Atlantic City, NJ. I got on at Latrobe,Pa on Amtrak 42 on Thursday Dec.11,2014. about 18 people got on in Latrobe with engine 514 with 6 cars, Business Class cars was almost full, I got my great seat on left side. NJT Atlantic City was fine with no flooded on the line. I Won over $1,000.00 on the Slot Machines over 4 night, I didn't Win the Big One Yet, But i am happy with 1,000.00. Getting on Amtrak 43 in Philly on Monday Dec 15. Amtrak 43 had an old 10&6 Sleeping car on, they taken that car off in Philly. Amtrak 43 again was full train again. Every thing was on time for me

How much did it cost you over the weekend to win the $1000?

Does that include the cost of travel, lodging, and dining?

I wouldn't mind going on a weekend trip and getting $1000 to pay for it and maybe some left over. Sounds like a fun little excursion. Of course, next time ?

So, if I understand correctly, railcity likely put $600 into the slot machines over 4 days and ended up with $1000, for a potential profit of $400. Perhaps other less lucrative gambling was involved other than slots that might reduce the profit.

Depending on your gambling history, the casinos will give a lot of freebies to get you in the door.

Sands in Bethlehem PA, which is adjacent to the Lehigh Line, has done deals on a pretty regular basis, too. We'll go with friends. I'll go look at trains, my wife and her friends will gamble and shop. With their card you can get very good rates and comps.

One place I liked for railfanning and gambling was pre-trench Reno. I recall one casino (I think it was Fitzgerald's) which had a walkway with slot machines over or near the Union Pacific line.

However, I was not then, nor am I now much of a gambler. I prefer to spend my time outdoors watching and photographing trains rather than inside throwing away money in slot machines.

They don't build and run those casinos to give away money. Just look around. You were very fortunate to come away with money. Most just loose their shirt and everything else. lol.
