2nd time in two weeks a few of these have headed north. Are they undergoing some kind of road test, or are they being released for service? Date: 03/02/15 14:02 Re: #98 Four Viewliner Bags Author: joemvcnj There is a heritage baggage car, so I assume it was the functioning baggage car.
That leads to the question where will the heritage baggage cars be sent to slaughter ? Beech Grove ? Naparona, NJ ? Date: 03/02/15 15:10 Re: #98 Four Viewliner Bags Author: dcfbalcoS1 I thought someone was putting 'four bags' of luggage or something on the train.

Beech Grove ? > Naparona, NJ ? What makes you think that all of these cars will go to scrap? I know that Amtrak has made a statement that they don't want to operate any of these cars again once these are retired; however there are short lines and other groups who might be interested in using some of them, even as storage facilities. If Amtrak removes all the head-end-power equipment from these cars there are still some folks who might have a valid usage for them, and Amtrak should sell them for the best price where ever. Amtrak needs cash to repair other passenger cars. John in White Marsh, Maryland Date: 03/02/15 16:58 Re: #98 Four Viewliner Bags Author: Out_Of_Service joemvcnj Wrote:
