Nice pics.

2nd time in two weeks a few of these have headed north. Are they undergoing some kind of road test, or are they being released for service?

There is a heritage baggage car, so I assume it was the functioning baggage car.
That leads to the question where will the heritage baggage cars be sent to slaughter ? Beech Grove ? Naparona, NJ ?

I thought someone was putting 'four bags' of luggage or something on the train.

What makes you think that all of these cars will go to scrap? I know that Amtrak has made a statement that they don't want to operate any of these cars again once these are retired; however there are short lines and other groups who might be interested in using some of them, even as storage facilities. If Amtrak removes all the head-end-power equipment from these cars there are still some folks who might have a valid usage for them, and Amtrak should sell them for the best price where ever. Amtrak needs cash to repair other passenger cars.

Sad they can't design something better looking than these.
