WB California Zephyr train #5 that left Chicago this afternoon is showing service disruption between Creston, IA and Omaha. Anyone have any information?

Two broken rails. One near Red Oak Iowa that they are passed now and another east of Gibson yard that should be fixed before #5 gets there.

I am glad the broken rails were detected...I rode #5 last week and know the BNSF across Iowa is good for 79 - 80 mph...at times we would hit 82 or 83 if my GPS was correct.

That sounds like an improvement to the ride. I seem to recall several years ago about lots of complaints that the BNSF ride across Iowa was very rough account of all the heavy coal traffic "unsmoothing" the ride.
