Passenger Trains > Solution to Amtrak LD breakdowns/delays?Date: 03/28/15 13:12 Solution to Amtrak LD breakdowns/delays? Author: bob01566 Amtrak 449 running through MP57 in Charlton, MA this afternoon - with 4 units - will this minimize delays due to breakdowns...LOL...?
And yes, it's snowing, again. Our 10th weekend "snow event" in a row. Date: 03/28/15 14:08 Re: Solution to Amtrak LD breakdowns/delays? Author: 8notch Looks like 104 has cut over its right eye? Robert
Date: 03/28/15 16:27 Re: Solution to Amtrak LD breakdowns/delays? Author: ProAmtrak That is a waste of money and fuel if they went that route, what happened with just making sure all units are 100% ready to go before leaving the yards!
Date: 03/28/15 17:38 Re: Solution to Amtrak LD breakdowns/delays? Author: Lackawanna484 That's a really nice picture. I'm sure the last three inches of snow in a winter with a hundred and ten inches doesn't look as nice to a local, though.
It's possible the power is being forwarded west for service in Chicago, or may have been picked up at Springfield for delivery to Albany. There are often a number of units assigned to New Haven which would need service occasionally. Date: 03/28/15 17:48 Re: Solution to Amtrak LD breakdowns/delays? Author: dcfbalcoS1 Rather impossible to tell from a photo if all units are on line and wasting fuel and money or not. I looked real close and could also NOT tell if someone made a wise choice and ferried power to a service facility or it had been picked up on line somewhere for other uses. : )

And a ride from Paris to Nantes on the TGV-Atlantique follows the Loire for much of the line west of Le Mans: 247 miles in 130 minutes. I suspect jp1822's auto-correct did its thing! timecruncher |
