Author: norm1153 Has anyone heard of any movement of these cars in the last couple of days, going northbound? Just wondering how they'll be routed.

They'll undergo an extensive renovation before being put into service. Don't know how many cab cars are included, but I think they are all low level. If they were to be added to the rear of the Starlight, which I doubt, they would probably have to be split up into at least four batches, since there are 16 cars involved, and I don't think the Starlight can handle more than four extra cars. My understanding was that in addition to adding a car to the existing Bombardier sets they'reusing these to form two additional Bombardier trainsets, which will allow them to break down two Gallery sets and increase most of the Gallery sets to six cars as well. Author: railwaybaron I have it on good authority that, as of 3/31 the ex-Metrolink cars must first be inspected by JPB mechanical people before they leave LA. When they will be inspected is not as yet set. How they go north is still undecided.

Hopefully JPBX will talk to Sound Transit about how SCAX "cared for" their cars a few years ago....or at least negotiates a discount. (From what I could see from the freeway headed west into town...a bunch of that style cars on those two tracks)
