CZ #6 of May 2 -- "Service Disruption" nr Winter Park, CO -Why?
Author: Margaret_SP_fan

Was checking the status of CZ #6 (the one that left
Emeryville, CA, Saturday, May 2, and saw on
http://asm.transitdocs.com/
that the dreaded "Service Disruption has has ocurred --
near Winter park, CO, just west of the Moffat Tunnel.
The last report was made at 7:32 pm (I assume local
time, which is Mountain Time) -- 5-1/2 hours ago as I
type this.  Does anyone know what happened?
TIA!

Thanks, Chris.  That is not exactly an easy place to fix
a broken rail.  Wonder how long it will take to fix it?
(I wonder how they discoverd the rail was broken?)
TIA!

a bad signal alerted them to the broken rail
I suspect a recrew was involved, but that was
probably based on MofW 's estimate

in my experience dealing with MW in emergency situations, whenever they give an estimated time add an hour to 1 1/2 hours for every 2.5 hours of projected work tims ...
