Has the Buckingham Branch completed the trackwork on the old C&O from Orange to Gordonsville?   What is the new speed limit?

I rode in October and according to my speed app we were in the 25-30 mph range for that segment.

I beleive that is at least twice the previous speed.   Should help with schedule keeping, and I have noted that there doesnt seem to have been many VERY late arrivals into NYC in recent months.

The last time I rode this segment, they were performing a lot of maintenance on the ROW including actively cutting down the pole line along the ROW.  Sad to see that go...

Last I rode it in 2012 the train maintained the track speed of 40mph.

One of us may have the segment of track he is referring to confused.  I was referring to the slowest section of track east of Charlottesville where track speed was clearly 10-15mph.   This is the section of track that I observed them working on a couple of years ago.
