Hello from Amtrak Train 21. We are in Marshall 6 hours late due to
hitting a tree... well at least limbs that had fallen on the tracks. My
guess is that a UP locomotive will be leading us into Fort Worth.


Then, an update:

Scratch the UP locomotive. They told us they were going to add one
but I do not see one up front. We are stuck at Marshall, TX. Two
freights have passed and one is in the queue.

What wrong with this Bad Luck train lately??

Wouldn't say its the train so much as it's the weather down here in east Texas southwest Arkansas lots and lots and lots of rain. It started as washouts here and there both road and rail and nows it's trees. We're now seeing trees that blow over with just a small wind gust due to saturated ground. We got more rain on the way upwards of 7 inches and now saying that area along the Red River from Lake Texmoa dam south will have a flood that's equal or greater than the flood we had in 1990.

I'm surprised Amtrak still got the train through with all that mess and I know if it was the day the thru cars connected with No. 1, I can imagine how much time No. 1 lost waiting for it! As for a bad luck train Railcity it seems to me you don't pay attention to the weather, and since you were playing it safe by taking 58 to connect with No. 1 in New Orleans, it won't surprise me if you start complaining on why you're getting delayed in San Antonio if the rains don't let up by the time your trip shows up!
