Passenger Trains > KS in CA on SixDate: 05/27/15 14:25 KS in CA on Six Author: BoilingMan PV Kansas trailing #6(27) today, climbing Donner Pass.
Kansas stared out as a lowly coach on the DRGW in 1950, but was converted into their business car Wilson McCarthy in 1956. Philip What's-His-Face renamed the car Kansas when he took over things. I think the car was lettered for the Southern Pacific for a while. The location here is (today's) MP 159, between the old sites of Gorge & American. The grade crossing in the foreground is the road down to the Rawhide Mine.
