I hope that the ticket price was very high, like at least $1,000.00.  These fines must be increased all over the country to make these people wake up to the fact that traffic laws must be obeyed.  That driver is lucky he was not killed, and I hope that their insurance company has to pay for the damages to the railroad also along with the fine.

Driver should also be made to pay for damages. If he doesn't have the cash...take his other assets if he even has any. Maybe that will help stop the madness.

saw on Google news that Google maps will be set up to warn drivers they are approaching rail crossings.    It might stop a few drivers from becoming hood ornaments on fast moving trains.

FRA says that xing incidents increased by 9% last year.  unable to determine if it was increased train movements or more self destuctive drivers.

They never learn.  I believe the City of N.O. clipped an SUV in the same manner last night in Rantoul, IL.  The moron in that incident also walked away.
