I was surprised to see a lot of "apparent suicide" in the reports.  And, doors didn't work on some cars, etc.

Probably because you have to cross a busy interstate highway and jump over a barrier to get to the Metro tracks, or you had to climb down stairways that have No Trespassing signs and walk away from the station.  This is not an area where someone would be taking a shortcut by crossing the tracks or walking along the tracks to get anywhere.
