Amtrak Status Map
Author: Auburn_Ed

The map at http://asm.transitdocs.com is NOT showing trains at all.  Anyone else getting any info off map?  Was a nice item to have when it was working.

Looks fully populated here, too.  Windows 7, Firefox.

Centurylink/Chrome/Vista-64 shows #7 rolling at 10.6 mph somewhere in NE Montana.

I'm getting nothing but the red route lines on the map.  But I've never been to this site before.  Is there something I need to do after I get to the map to make the data show up?

Using Win 8.1, IE 11, via Comcast.

Maybe it's a regional problem.

Could indeed be a regional problem.  This was working just fine for me yesterday, but now I get no trains either. The internet here has been spotty today, so I'm thinking it's a (hopefully sporadic) connection problem.

Works okay for me...I just opened it and had to laugh.  It shows Northeast Regional Train #172 as being stopped in Springfield, MA.  He must have taken a wrong turn in New Haven!!!

The Status Map gets its information from Track-A-Train...

If New Haven swaps engines between 172 and a Springfield train, without reprogramming
the GPS tracker, that'll happen.

The map was revamped a couple days ago.  Internet Explorer will not work: http://discuss.amtraktrains.com/index.php?/topic/64837-alternate-track-a-train-v2/.

Well, that answers that,  Thanks for the link.

Does it work on an Android Razr?

Not understanding why a Boston train would change engines at New Haven any more, or even if it did, how such an engine could then be sent to Springfield (electric vs diesel).

Thanks for the heads-up on IE.  Tried Firefox and it works fine!

Boston Regionals can still run diesel, if required by a shortage of electrics.

I've had issues as well using Internet Explorer on my laptop. But when I go to my iPad, it works fine. No clue why one works and the other doesn't.

Just tested simultaneously with three different browsers on my Windows 7 PC.   NO GO on IE 11.   GO on Firefox 39 and Chrome 43.

Anyone using Internet Exploder, er Explorer, should plan on sunsetting it. Microsoft will soon be putting Exploder out of its misery: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/what-is-project-spartan
