"Just the standard CA industrial farmland demo derby.. . " Not this time. According to a passenger who was on this train when it hit the trailer -- that trailer was a refrigerated. trailer, not the usual and expected ag trailer. And the crossing had full gated protection now. NO excuse for the driver to let his tralier foul the RR tracks. The engineer was injured by flying glass from the broken locomotive windshield. I have no other info on his condition. The truck driver was uninjured. Guess all too many people just don't know - there MUST be enough room on the other side of all grade crossings for their entire vehicle to lear the tracks BEGORE they start across the tracks. they diverted thru the Roseville UP yard for some different scenery. Eventhough the train was VERY late, the entire crew did their best to make it as comfortable a trip as possible. As for the "wayward driver" well he should be fired with no exceptions allowed and his company heavily fined for employing a representative with such poor judgement. |
