For those of you keeping track, Metra F59 #97 is on the point of this afternoon's 3:55 pm departure to Fox Lake on Metra's Milwaukee North line.

Thanks for sharing: I just looked at some videos of Metra #97 on YouTube and have to say that diesel looks rather sanitary in Metra colors.

Of course I wonder if Amtrak would ever consider some of the F59 units available for hot spares or regular duty.  With all of the grade crossing incursions and walking wounded P42 equipment this year, it would appear that some extra equipment could be put to good use.
