Now if only the clouds could be controlled ... !  Great close-up of the locomotive.  Nice to see a matched set of Horizon Fleet cars on the Surfliner.

We like the clouds. They might bring rain!

WOW! Eight cars on the single set, which is not all that rare. Eight Amfleets on a Northeast Regional is not a common site too much any more......

Why is it that no one can handle natural photos anymore? Everything has to be photoshopped, no clouds, perfect light, etc. All that stuff is life, not this digital Max Headroom world people seem to live in.

I can handle it, but I'm a "railfan" not a "photographer". When I take a picture it's to preserve a memory.

Same here, if it's in the shot, then it must be real.

Nice shot Chris. How would one discribe a cabbage car? I would discribe them as a caboose/baggage type car on the trailing end of the train. Or a cab control/baggage type car on the lead end of the train. Or would you discride them more along the lines as a caboose or waycar  or non car on a train?

I live near Buffalo and here our Maple Leaf  is held to a maximum umber of Amfleets ( 6) due to servicing issues in Toronto where a longer train would have be hauled around the yards and turned and washed in 2 sections were the train longer. The first train in the a.m. EB that leaves Niagara Falls NY may have 6 Amfleets especially on a Saturday morning. One engine is all we get for these trains however and timekeeping is only mediocre. Californians are lucky that Surfliners can have 6 car superliner style cars for easier handling at stations and push-pull running to boot. There is no push-pull between western NY and Penn station. everybody gets pulled.. In off peak the shortest train i have seen was an engine and three cars with one being the food car.
