It's seen here from the cab of the SP&S 700 just before the departure of Sunday's memorial trip for Pacific Railroad Preservation Society's founder Chris McLarney who passed away on September 30th. Chris was a long-time employee of and ultimately PDX supervisor for Drummac, Amtrak's mechanical maintenance contractor in Portland. The Coast Starlight slowed considerably and whistled freely in honor of Chris as it passed the 700.
