Passenger Trains > Is CSX's Office Car "Youngstown" Still Active?Date: 11/30/15 08:59 Is CSX's Office Car "Youngstown" Still Active? Author: aehouse The CSX staff sleeper "Youngstown," is an old favorite of mine, having served as the Erie and Erie Lackawanna "Spirit of Youngstown," in revenue service 1954-1970, then in EL, Conrail (unnamed) and CSX office car service ever since. It used to appear in almost every CSX OCS consist, but I have not seen it recently.
Does anyone know if it is still active? The car is shown, second in the train, on a joint D&H/EL office car special near Binghamton, N.Y., northbound in the summer of 1971, when it was still "The Spirit of Youngstown."
