# 300 northbound was 47 mins. late at Alton this morning and 3 hrs., 22 mins. late at Carlinville
# 302 northbound was 7 mins. late at Alton and 1 hr., 17 mins. late at Carlinville
 7 am train CHI-STL only slightly late
 Too bad some trains can't originate in Springfield in addition to normally scheduled service
ANybody know what's up ? TIA

My guess is continuing higher-speed related trackwork between Alton and Carlinville.

i saw a note of a double train, engine cars, two engines cars leaving Springfield.

And nobody mentioned that Hiawatha's 339, 340, 341 and 342 were well over an hour late arriving final terminals yesterday evening... That's on a short 80 mile run.
