Passenger Trains > What Are The Super Bowl Trains Doing Today?

Several posters have submitted pictures and video coverage of the BNSF Super Bowl specials on its way to California. Can anyone supply pictures of "game day doings"? And is there truth about a Union Pacific train presence? Thanks in advance.

UP would often run a steam engine to the bowl, if online.

There are currently no UP steam engines in running condition.

I would presume all the trains are parked waiting for the game to end. Go, Broncos!

The ACE train from Stockton is already on the move.

The BNSF train is reportedly in Oakland with about 10 cars, poised to depart. Previous reports indicated it would depart about 11 a.m.

I saw photos yesterday of longer-than-usual Capitol Corridor trains.

And UP doesn't appear to have a dog in the race today.

The various specials will reportedly chill in San Jose during the game and depart north well after dark.

Caltrain commuter trains are on their regular Sunday schedule with one extra car.

Amtrak California Corridor is running 3 extra trains each way between Sacramento and San Jose, plus one extra morning train from Martinez to San Jose.

Are the Capitol Corridor trains any longer than usual, especially the extras?

How about the extra Caltrain specials?

How many cars on the ACE train?

Caltrain ran three scheduled pre-game specials from San Francisco to Mountain View and possibly an untold number of extras this morning. No word yet on post game specials. 

I wonder how VTA is keeping up with the hordes of people getting off Caltrain at Mountain View.

An ACE train with seven cars arrived already empty at Santa Clara Caltrain at 11:25, continuing on to San Jose Diridon Station for layover.

Several broadcast sites have mentioned how the well run the train and bus operation served the huge crowd.
