Single unit 29/30
Author: PennPlat

With the 48 experiment it comes to mind why not run 29/30 single unit Washington - Cumberland and Pittsburgh - Chicago?  Just base a P42 at either Pittsburgh or Cumberland and add the unit at those locations.  29/30 runs most of year wtih 8 Supers and 1 bag.

Incidentally, 29(29) had THREE engines: the AMTK 814, 174 and 830.  Both the 800s are from
the AutoTrain pool and have had numerous failures lately.

Would probably not save any money. They would probably have to pay the train crew extra for switching the engine on and off, or maybe even have to station an extra crew to do the switching and watch the engine overnight!

And every time they do something, they have to cut off the HEP., get 3 point protections, and so on and so on.

Why don't you get between cars and pull the plug on live HEP cables and tell us how it feels, and so on and so on.....

I explained why cutting and adding engines is not practical.

So you can just cut the sarcasm.
