Phase III P32AC-DM #710 on #48 Yesterday
Author: Amtrak288

1.  P32AC-DM #710 was the 3rd unit on #48 yesterday sporting its awesome new Phase III paint and Empire Service logo.  New to this unit is the word "Rensselaer" on the front near the plow, going back to the days when the F40's had their maintenance base printed in the same general area.

2.  Departing Buffalo-Depew Station, passing under the historic 4-track New York Central signal bridge at CP-431.  Phase III looks just plain great!  The State of New York paid for the repaint but I sure hope this paint scheme spreads to the rest of the system!

3.  Two very nice PV's "St. James Place" and ex-UP dome "Charter Club" bringing up the markers, now that's a passenger train!!!

With all the new cars coming out in phase III we can hope this carries over to the older equipment as it is repainted.

Clearly identifying the home base of locomotives is a good idea. I think it adds pride and accountability in a visible way for the folks who are responsible to maintain it. As for whether they will be funded enough to do what theya re supposed to do is a different matter of course.
