WUS Delays

Multiple delays due wire and sun kinks. holiday travel at its worst!

Was on the 4:20pm Express MARC train to BWI and we were only ~15" delayed...not bad all things considered!

There was also a small fire on the Long Bridge just before rush hour. Slight delays there. Video of fire boat in action.

Thanks for the fireboat snippet. They can deliver astonishing amounts of water on a fire.

The (decommissioned) John J. Harvey supported a dozen pumper trucks at the World Trade Center attack in 2001.

Delays getting worse as Acela #2126 left WUS 47 minutes late due to what our conductor reported as wires down and a disabled train at New Carrollton.

First it was a fire on the Long Bridge, then switch failure at Union Station, then a heat kink at L'Enfant. No "early getaway" if you depended on VRE today.
