Pleased to see an exhibit on DC's unique underground electric contact system. Must visit there someday.

BTW, nice seeing you at WAS after the fantastic AEM-7 trip last Saturday. A very good excursion.

Nice pictures. I have seen those cast iron armatures before. It's a good visual explanation of why a lot of the lines were simply paved over and not removed after the demise of the streetcars. In the spring a lot of potholes appear and tracks re-emerge. I call the annual "Revenge of Capital Transit."

Looks pretty extensive - a lot of storage tracks.  Was any of that built on a historic part of the rail system, or was it all a "new" location when the museum was set up?
