Eastbound Empire Builder (6/23) - over 6 hours late
Author: jp1822

The eastbound Empire Builder that left Seattle/Portland on 6/23 is now running over six hours late as of 1 pm EST. It seems that time was lost after leaving Havre. Heat restrictions? Did they have to put a freight unit on?

I see that #4, the Soithwest Chief is also running late I to Chicafo today (6/25).

Amtrak train 7 of 24th shows Service Disruption on the excellent transitdocs live map at WIlliston ND.
Does anyone know what happened to this train, since we are talking about the Builder ????
I am posting this at 11:21AM PDT in CA Saturday 6-25-16.

There was a lot of severe weather east of Glasgow yesterday afternoon/evening, then the crew went dead on hours of service at Williston. I had a friend on board the train travelling to Minot.

Regarding today's westbound 7 (6/24) at Glasgow in service disruption:  was told by a BNSF guy in crew room here that 7 is delayed by track washout east of here  account last nights storms and that "everything is backed up."
