Date: 08/24/16 14:51 Re: Ski Train Author: philippe Wonder if UP knows this is happening on their railroad?
Date: 08/24/16 16:08 Re: Ski Train Author: DivergingClear Seems legitimate; the Denver Post is also reporting this. We'll see on Thursday when Winter Park announces the details.
In the above article, there is a photo of a BNSF train at Winter Park labeled "Winter Park Ski Train". Oops. Date: 08/24/16 16:50 Re: Ski Train Author: Notch8 Awesome I hope it is back
Date: 08/24/16 18:39 Re: Ski Train Author: DavidP With coal traffic having taken a nose-dive on the Moffat route It wouldn't surprise me if UP is more amenable to a revenue-contributing passenger train.

Do you really think UP will come out ahead on this deal? (I'm not asking sarcastically... I don't know the answer.) Somehow I'd be surprised if this translates into actual profit for the host railroad. Regardless, thanks to UP for allowing this to happen! Date: 08/24/16 19:39 Re: Ski Train Author: railstiesballast The UP might be needing some political and public good will in the future?

As long as they're getting paid something more than the incremental cost of another train using the track, they come out ahead. Dave Date: 08/25/16 06:21 Re: Ski Train Author: joemvcnj Interesting if a Pueblo offshoot of the Chief and the this thing could be made into a year-round service hubbing at Denver, maybe extended to Glenwood Springs.
Moffat Tunnel was a joint public.privately funded venture, so Denver and Colorado ought to better enable its citizenry to use it. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/25/16 09:02 by joemvcnj. Date: 08/25/16 11:53 Re: Ski Train Author: mammothlacrosse train tickets details

I hope it eventually leads to a dedicated fleet such as ex-Santa Fe hi-levels, ex-Metra Gallery coaches, Amtrak-certified IHP coaches, or whatever else there is. Date: 08/25/16 20:10 Re: Ski Train Author: march_hare joemvcnj Wrote
