Passenger Trains > SW Chiefs meet at Gise NMDate: 09/26/16 04:55 SW Chiefs meet at Gise NM Author: AndyBrown We took a short vacation to visit Flagstaff last week and with our WB train being late, the meet was at Gise NM, a new one for me.

Date: 09/26/16 14:12 Re: SW Chiefs meet at Gise NM Author: chiefds With #3 still there as you were leaving, it looks like they were going to back out of the siding rather than running out of the other end.

Why would they do that? What's the advantage? Date: 09/26/16 14:50 Re: SW Chiefs meet at Gise NM Author: F40PHR231 symph1 Wrote:

Date: 09/26/16 15:59 Re: SW Chiefs meet at Gise NM Author: chiefds I've been told that a number of sidings are out of service in the area for various reasons. I had friends waiting to get on #4 at Trinidad recently and while tracking its progress, saw that it waited at Fox for 45 minutes for #3, even though there were other sidings in between (at least on paper).

I agree it looked like #4 was going to back out but can't say for sure. Andy Date: 09/26/16 17:39 Re: SW Chiefs meet at Gise NM Author: The_Chief_Way That's right . It was on T-O recently about the number and names of out of service sidings. Nothing said about one end of any being O-O-S.

Date: 09/26/16 19:58 Re: SW Chiefs meet at Gise NM Author: chiefds That would make sense too.
