As of the 9/30/16 deadline mandated to collect on a $59M Tiger grant re-imbursement, MBTA will be kicking off a small bit of commuter service on the Fitchburg line's new Wachusett extension via the recently constructed station/track/interlockings.

Inbound trains depart at 8:00AM and 5:22PM with outbound trains departing North Station at 6:30AM and 3:30PM. Not ideal for Boston commuters but if one wants to spend the day railfanning at Wachusett via a reverse commute - woo hoo! There is a new Honey Farms convenience store near the Wachusett station in this otherwise remote outpost.
