Passenger Trains > Amtrak's new promo

This was in a pop up that I saw today.
All about Amtrak Future.New stations,lounges
and "trains".Make that new Acelas.Nothing
for the rest of the world.

Well maybe they mean Viewliners.  At this rate, they should arrive about the same time as the Acelas.

There must be an "Untold Story" behind this Viewliner order.  Its taken far too many years to deliver this small order of cars of proven design.

​Likewise, how can an established builder like Nippon-Syro screw up the Chicago-St.Louis-Calif. order so badly.

​Just don't understand why Amtrak has such difficulty getting new passenger cars, when commuter agencies who are  just as cash strapped as Amtrak, seem to have no problem.

In Philadelphia, there were a lot of political hands in the deal to get the order approved.  Experience in manufacturing passenger cars was fairly low on the list.


My question on the Viewliner order is this:  Are the employees working at CAF getting paid every week?  There are several hundred people in various roles.  If they're getting paid, what are they doing?  If they're not getting paid, or have been laid off, I'd expect to see Chuck Schumer storming and raging.

So, are the employees on the payroll / property and not actually doing anything?

Maybe Amtrak should take up residence in CAF's facilities in an office car to whip around and antagonize their management on a continual basis like they do their own employees since they seem to think that is productive.

What "proven design" is this?

The original Viewliners have undergone so many revisions and the Sleepers are basket cases / orphan children.

Immediate Congressional investigation  needed!
WHY is CAF getting away with this incompetence?
It's obvious they are a BAD minor league outfit trying to play major league ball.
HELLO, CONGRESS? They're PISSING AWAY our tax money!
 And, who knows how long, or how safe,  what they eventually build will hold together.? Especially at 79mph.
