Passenger Trains > Some of North Carolina DOT Trains, the PiedmontsDate: 09/28/16 15:09 Some of North Carolina DOT Trains, the Piedmonts Author: MartyBernard 1. RNCX F59PHI 1755 (The City of Salisbury) with our Train arriving at Greensboro, NC on November 18, 2012. The little guy is may grandson. We were ridiing just to ride. The ticket agent gave him the Amtrak hat. The engineer said "HI" to him.
2. The conductor asked how he spelled his name, wrote it on his seat check, then dotted the "I" with his pinch. Rami asked about the big star on the engine's nose and was told it was because North Carolina was one of the 13 original states and claims a star on the first U.S. flag. 3. RNCX F59PHI 1797 (The City of Asheville) with Piedmont 76 at Salisbury, NC on March 3, 2013. 4. RNCX F59PH 1869 (The City or Durham and ex-GO Transit 535) with Piedmont 75 at Spencer, NC on January 31, 2013. 5. RNCX F59PH 1893 (The City of Burlington and ex-GO Transit 540) with Piedmont 74 at Linwood, NC on April 11, 2013. The tracks going off to the right are the leads to the NS's major freight yard. 6 cars in photo 3. As your other photos show, that's double the normal size. Wonder why. Nice-looking train. Date: 09/30/16 10:25 Re: Some of North Carolina DOT Trains, the Piedmonts Author: ctillnc > 6 cars in photo 3. As your other photos show, that's double the normal size. Wonder why.
