Passenger Trains > SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at DuskDate: 10/27/16 14:35 SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: Mgoldman Date: 10/27/16 14:39 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: Mgoldman *I should note - added the lit left and right Sprinter headlights in Photoshop!
Was too dark for my tastes without, though, lol - much better than the dreaded one side lit, one side not which happens quite often when capturing these! /Mitch Date: 10/27/16 14:48 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: GenePoon I know the exact spot...and you did well to capture the Amtraker at speed, overtaking the SEPTA slowing for its stop at Bristol.
I like it! Date: 10/27/16 15:45 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: Mgoldman I'd love to see this image captured with a Canon 5D Mark IV with its much improved dynamic range, or,
lol, of course, even an old Nikon with its even better dynamic range. Still, I can't complain too much considering the image was captured at ISO 5000. F/5.6 at 1/400th Canon 5D Mark III. /Mitch Date: 10/27/16 16:11 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: fulham Great pic...the silver trains, the headlights, the perfectly straight ribbon rail, the concrete ties...really sums up the NEC today!

Speaking of dynamic range, how do you think this shot would have worked if you were shooting film? ;-) Date: 10/27/16 18:30 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: jim6300loco Outstanding pictures!!
Jim Date: 10/27/16 19:31 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: cutboy2 400 plus seats on Amtrak. How many on Septa?/ Real transportation!!
Date: 10/27/16 19:37 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: RuleG Great photo. If Amtrak was still producing hardcopy national timetables, that would make a great cover. Maybe you could submit it for a calendar.
Date: 10/27/16 21:35 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: CPR_4000 I believe Mr. Mitch has already had at least one national timetable cover.
Date: 10/28/16 00:28 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: mp51w Historical angle to the shot, as a set of the original silverliners were the test vehicles for the high speed metroliners.
Amfleet (metroliner design) with new electric engine. Kind of a full circle theme! Neat photo! Date: 10/28/16 03:13 Re: SEPTA Silverliner IV and a Sprinter at Dusk Author: atsf121 Fantastic photo.

So that's 490 seats plus a food car. I believe SEPTA cars are about 120 seats, so that's roughly 480 seats - but nobody likes to sit in the middle of a 3-seater! |
